The WHISTLEWOOD SUMMIT
The trail climbs high through timbered glade,
In dappled light and cedar shade.
A bridge of blue, a path of gold,
Where mountain secrets all unfold.
Continuing the Whistlewood trail, The Whistlewood Summit takes the story higher into the autumn woods. The terracotta surface is transformed into a textured forest of copper and violet trees, with a blue-railed bridge leading the eye toward the distant mountain peaks. The carved, impasto-like quality of the paint gives the piece a remarkable depth.
This 6-inch plate is a lovely vessel for artisanal flavours. Serve a slice of French Tarte Tatin or an Italian selection of aged pecorino with honey. In an Oriental setting, it is the ideal size for a selection of steamed dumplings or a serving of crispy spring rolls.
